أرى الموت ورداً كُـــل حَــــي لــــوارُد وكل بني الأنثى إلى الأرض عـائــد*
أرى الموت لا يَنسى وإن طال عمركَ

أرى العيش في الدنيا كوابس نـــــــــائم يُطاردها

يعيش امرئ في الحلم طـــــــول حياته
ويَجمع في الدنيا كأنْ هو خالــــُد*
ألا أيها الإنسان فاعــــــــــلم بأنكَ
تًموتُ
ويبق اللهُ واللهُ وَاحــــُد*
ومَن حَمل الصندوقَ فاعلم بأنـــــه
سيُحمل في الصندوق والجسُم بَارُد*
ومن عجب بعض الخـــــــلائق ميت
على أنه في العيش باق مُشاهـــــــُـد*
وآخر تحتَ الأرض حـيٌ مخـــــــلدُ
ويَصدق فيه الضد :حي وفاقــــــــُد *
لقد مات عبد الله والموت
واجــــــب ومات الندى المدرار إذ
مات والـــُد*
لعمرك لا أدرى أأندب شيخنــــــــا
علـى فقده والقلب للصبر فاقــــــــُـد *
أم أندب ما قد حل بالعلم والحلـــــم وما
حل بالطلاب أ و ما أكـــــابد . *
